Background

Kenny Rankin MBChB MD FRCS graduated in 1999 from the University of Dundee. Basic surgical training was in Newcastle followed by an MD investigating the cellular biology of bone metastases. Higher specialist training was in Perth and Dundee followed by a return to the North East as NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer.

Honorary Consultant in Orthopaedic Oncology with special interests in the basic science of musculoskeletal oncology, in particular osteosarcoma. Research activities include basic science projects modelling bone cancer, translational studies involving the assessment of biomarkers of joint replacement infection, and bone sarcoma circulating tumour cells.
